This original 18X24 whimsical ink painting on 1.5” canvas by Patty Donoghue displays a young girl sitting crosslegged, reading a book, while tons of Puffins flock in to hear the story. This original painting was inspired by a true event of a child that won a writing contest about the bird. Her prize for this accomplishment was spending the day at the Atlanta Aquarium in Georgia, with their puffins. This imaginary piece was inspired not only by this little girls feat, but by the trials her family had just gone through and their steps to normalize life and cherish their daughters.
Nichole Houghes and her efforts through “Levi’s Legacy” to prevent childhood drownings, has inspired several of Donoghue’s whimsical Paintings. Nicole shows incredible talent in writing, as she exposed the most vulnerable event in her life on social media. She has changed the face of childhood drowning around the world. Her work through the foundation has filtered into parental teaching and pediatric clinics nationwide.
