This piece is an attempt to retain copies of Top Turret Gunners 47 WWII Mission record in art form to extend its life and history and give honor and respect to the men attached to this mission diary. This impressionistic form of the famous World War II B-24 Liberator painted in gold sits atop the photo copies of the actual records of each mission retained by the veteran. The history only peaks through the piece with records of bomb sizes, records, hit zones, the words and feelings of young men in horrific situations. There are also words of love and hope and wishes for each other. On the top left is a list of the places this soldier visited in another hand writing. Probably the records kept by a loved one and later entered. The plane along with its crewmen were significant in the war outcome. Many stories and famous people had history with this war time bomber during its lifetime. The records below is a cherished heirloom and further artistic attempts will be made in the future.
