This is a creative harbor, abstract painting, in acrylic and chalk paint mediums by Patty Donoghue. The colorful blues were inspired by the Wilmington, NC, shipping lanes and the history of the Cape Fear River. The colorful impressionistic piece was painted on a 20x20 , 1.5 ' thick stretched canvas. The scene is a city or could be a container ship in the harbor, with other nautical vessels moving in the foreground. The piece elicited interest and extended viewing because of its hues and values. The gold throughout the painting complements the scene giving the impression of light behind the viewer. This piece performed very well in its social media debut and retained a broad positive appeal.
