Artist's Description
This original emotional abstract painting evolved from the fluid ink paints and their natural flowing movement. The shapes were then extenuated by line ink strokes to identify the nautical shapes. The impression of a distressed sailing ship underwater emerged. It appears the sea has swallowed the boat as it sits alone and lost on the ocean floor. The colors are bright bold yet harsh and the art becomes a thought provoking piece. With the clear despair it brings to surface Jesus's follows during Good Friday when they did not understand, possessed fear, loss, and unbearable pain. As the year comes around and the world is on lockdown due to a fearful and life robbing world pandemic this painting again becomes real for the times. From the Wreck I Rise. Although this painting was introduced on Good Friday for its feeling of abandonment and loss for the apostles that day it is emotional and appropriate for the current times.
