Description
This watercolor painting depicts a actual scene from the 82nd airborne’s return from Iraq to Ft, Bragg, NC, in the fall of 2017. The painting shows a father returning after nine months and establishing a first connection with his baby boy. The child is 9 to 12 months of age and is clearly interested in this attentive figure he has discovered. The father is focused and gently reaching toward the child. Memorial Day, Veterans Day gift idea. The scene is playful yet emotional. This painting is for sale not framed. Fathers day gift as well. The original is 11X14 and framed behind glass. The painting was sold while on display @footnotescoffeandcocktails in @winstonsalem NC. The collector felt the emotional movement behind the painting and purchased it in a matted and blue frame presentation.

As a Mom who watched my husband rekindle relationships with our 2 kids after deployments, I get a little teary-eyed at this piece. It's wonderful!

Beautiful composition Patty. I get the same rush of emotions as I would from watching a video or commercial of are service men and women greeting their families again.

Congratulations, your work is featured on the homepage of "Created by Southern Artists"
Patty Donoghue replied:
Thank you David. I want to honor our vets. Especially Memorial Day. They give up so much and as a southern artist, Ft Bragg is just a couple of hours away. I wish I could find this fellow and give him the original. Thank you for this feature.
